Just writing to hear how you feel about getting Artest, losing Ariza, and not knowing about Odom.

    Best and worst case scenarios?

Good to hear from you man. Big ups to your Red Sox and the cheer they gave Nomar last night….Class act…..Losing Ariza gaining Artest to state the obvious is a younger guy for an older guy. Ever since Trevor came to LA I have been a huge fan. Instant energy off of the bench and I missed him when we lost to you guys in the Finals. He killed the off season as we all know working on his shooting. All playoffs he was a definite Pippen to Kobe. He had some of the biggest steals this city has ever had.
Losing him we lose the youth and the potential. How many players in the NBA have had one great season then never lived up to it? Sasha Vuj to name one, dont get me started on him. I do not think Trevor will slump but continue to be that great role player, a guy who gives 100 percent every night. In ways losing him is like losing PO-z for you guys. A great role player that you hate to see go.
Yet Ron Artest, what can I say. I ripped this guy all Houston series. Yet he is a lock down defender and has a better shot than Ariza. All around he is a more completed player as he should be with his experience. I will miss Ariza but you have to love Artest fire and passion. He chilled down last year and did not get that many T’s. Also Phil knows how to deal with guys like this with past experience with the Worm himself Rodman.
This trade right now is a moot feeling for me, leaning slightly towards wishing we still had Ariza. 2 years ago I did want the Lakers to land Artest and trade Odom. So I guess we will see how it all shapes out when the season begins. Lets hope the old saying Defense wins championships prevails.
Does Phil start Lamar or Ron? Could you imagine a Lamar, Kobe, Ron, Pau, and Bynum. Tall lineup with three guys who can take care of the ball. We shall see. Many I cant wait for hoops season….How about your boy Sheed, that definitely spreads the floor for KG and allows Pierce and Rondo to slice and dice a little bit…
